The Elementary English Greetings Quiz is a free web app for practicing simple English greeting expressions in a 4-choice quiz format.
Children can practice everyday phrases such as hello, good morning, thank you, you’re welcome, excuse me, sorry, self-introductions, feelings, classroom English, and friendly replies.
All questions, options, hints, diagrams, and example scenes are original. They are not copied from textbooks, workbooks, entrance exams, proficiency tests, mock exams, worksheets, PDFs, slides, audio, video, or other teaching materials.
Each question starts from a short meaning, scene, or mini dialogue. Students choose the best expression and then review the reason with a hint that fits the question.
Greeting phrases become easier to remember when children connect them with a scene: meeting someone in the morning, saying good night, thanking a friend, asking a teacher a question, or introducing themselves to someone new.
The quiz includes both Japanese-to-English questions and English-to-meaning questions, so students can practice understanding and choosing phrases from more than one direction.
Hints change according to the current question. The app shows the scene, key phrase, conversation flow, and original SVG diagrams such as speech bubbles, time-of-day icons, classroom cards, and phrase cards.
My Page stores challenge history, best records, and often missed questions so students can review expressions they find difficult.
Students can compare Good morning, Good afternoon, Good evening, and Good night, and learn when each phrase sounds natural.
They can also practice conversation pairs such as Thank you. → You’re welcome., Here you are. → Thank you., I’m sorry. → It’s OK., and How are you? → I’m good, thank you.
Self-introduction questions help students use My name is ..., I’m ..., What’s your name?, and Nice to meet you. in a simple conversation flow.
This quiz can be used for a short warm-up, review after a lesson, home practice, or a quick challenge before class ends. Because the questions are short, students can try a course in small gaps of time.
The ranking and review features give children a clear goal while still keeping the focus on understanding when and how to use each expression.
