The High School Kanbun Sentence Pattern Quiz is a free web app for practicing Kanbun sentence patterns, Japanese readings, modern translations, and pattern recognition in a 4-choice quiz format.
The questions are original examples made for this app. They focus on common high school Kanbun learning points such as negation, questions, rhetorical questions, causative forms, passive forms, double-reading characters, comparison, limitation, conditionals, wishes, readings, and modern translations.
This app does not reproduce textbook passages, workbook questions, exam questions, handouts, or explanation text from existing teaching materials.
Each short sentence, choice, hint, and explanation is independently created so that students can practice the underlying patterns without relying on copied source material.
Hints change according to the current question. They show the keyword, reading pattern, and meaning, with simple original SVG diagrams for patterns such as 不, 未, 豈, 使, 為〜所〜, 将, 不如, and 若〜則〜.
My Page stores challenge history, best records, and often missed questions, making repeated review easier.
When you see a short sentence, first find the keyword such as 不, 未, 豈, 使, 為・所, 将, 不如, 若, 願, or 請. Then connect that keyword to the reading pattern and finally choose the natural modern meaning.
Because every question is short, the quiz works well for quick review before class, after homework, or before a regular school test. The courses also make it easy to focus on one weak area at a time.
Students can use the app to check whether they recognize the pattern, not just whether they remember a single example. Teachers and guardians can use the course names and My Page records to see which sentence patterns need more review.
The ranking and history functions remain available, so repeated practice can feel more like a small challenge than a worksheet.
The app uses short, independently written sentences so learners can practice the structure itself. It is designed as supplementary practice, not as a replacement for school lessons, textbooks, or official information.
