What is the free Kanji Radicals Quiz?

The Kanji Radicals Quiz is a free web app for practicing kanji radicals in a 4-choice quiz format.

The quiz is built for learners from elementary Grade 2 through junior high school. It focuses on original questions about radical names, radical positions, kanji groups, and meaning clues.

Practice radicals without copying existing materials

Each question, choice, explanation, and hint in this app is independently created. The app uses factual information about kanji radicals, but it does not reproduce textbook passages, workbook questions, entrance exam questions, test-prep explanations, or official materials.

Radicals are practiced through short original prompts such as choosing the radical of a kanji, finding a kanji with the same radical, identifying where the radical appears, and noticing meaning clues such as water, hand, speech, plant, road, metal, and heart.

Dynamic hints and review records

Hints change according to the current question. The hint cards show the radical name, its common position, related meaning, and a simple original diagram.

My Page stores challenge history, best records, and often missed questions, making the app useful for repeated review.

How this quiz helps learners

Radicals make kanji easier to observe. Instead of seeing a kanji as one large shape, learners can notice parts such as the left side, top, bottom, or surrounding frame.

This app is useful for quick review at home, short classroom warm-ups, and repeated practice before kanji tests. Learners can answer quickly, then use the hint cards to check why the choice makes sense.

Learn names, shapes, and meaning clues together

The quiz does not only ask for radical names. It also asks learners to find kanji with the same radical, identify where the radical appears, connect radicals with meaning clues, and compare similar-looking radicals.

By practicing these viewpoints together, students can build a habit of looking at kanji carefully and remembering them as meaningful parts.
